Tour de Fat: Minneapolis
Written by Jordan Twiggs

Heeeeyyyy Minneapolis!

mspringtossYou were certainly excited to have the Tour de Fat back in your hometown for a second year.   Set in the lush park that is Loring, I’m sure you enjoyed walking around on grass instead of a giant parking lot like last year. The weather held up all day for the carnival-esque fun that New Belgium brings on bike with brew in hand, even though the weatherman said to watch out for rain and thunderstorms. Score!

Down at the Wolverine Farm Publishing homestead, y’all enjoyed the rainwater ring toss quite a bit and seemed to welcome the facts about how scarce water is in the other parts of the country (and the few of you that made some rings were thankful for the beer tokens). It was great to listen to your thoughts on saving water and witness your apparent zealousness for rainwater harvesting.

Two points for costume style and another ten points for being so fun. Minneapolis, you killed it.

Here’s a little resource guide for all you midwestern do-it-yourselfers.  Please feel free to let us know what we forgot.  Happy homesteading!
